Tamalanrea-Makassar. The Forestry and Forestry Engineering Study Program at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) is holding a Student Release activity to carry out Field Work Practices (PKL) 1 Wave 8 which will be carried out for approximately one month. The activity took place starting at 09.30 WITA in the 1st Floor Hall of the Faculty of Needs, Unhas Tamalanrea Campus, Makassar, Monday (13/1/2025).
A total of 191 people consisting of 138 students from the Forestry Study Program and 53 Forestry Engineering Study Program students from the 2021 and 2022 class who will carry out PKL 1 Wave 8 in the Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) of the Unhas Faculty of Forestry Education Forest located in Bengo-Bengo, Maros Regency.
Starting the activity, Head of the Forestry Study Program, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, Dr. Ir. Sitti Nuraeni, M.P. In his speech, he said that in this PKL activity, students are required to apply their competencies or abilities in the field. In implementing the PKL work program has been prepared by the lecturer and the initiative of the students themselves.
“PKL 1 Batch 8 participants are required to optimize and implement in the field the knowledge gained in class, and carry out the work program well in accordance with the program that has been prepared by the lecturer or at the initiative of the students,” explained Dr. Nuraeni.
Dr. Nuraeni said that she hoped that students would carry out the work program well and smoothly and be able to produce good data and provide benefits for the development of the Unhas Forestry Faculty’s Educational Forest KHDTK and the students themselves.
On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Unhas, Prof. Dr. Ir. A. Mujetahid M., S.Hut., M.P. In his speech, he said that while carrying out PKL students should maintain their health and solidarity and take advantage of activities to improve their competence.
“I hope that during the implementation of this activity students can carry out the work program well and seriously so that the data produced is of high quality and can be used in the future development of the KHDTK for Educational Forests at the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University,” explained Prof. A. Mujetahid.
Furthermore, Prof. A. Mujetahid said that during the implementation of PKL activities, students must maintain cleanliness and hoped that through this activity the participants could use social media to disseminate to the wider community positive things related to KHDTK, Educational Forest, Faculty of Forestry, Unhas.
“Implementing PKL at the KHDTK Educational Forest is quite an effective step to see the competency and abilities of students before implementing the PKL which is planned to be carried out outside Unhas, namely at IPB and UGM because I am currently preparing a PKL collaboration plan between the Unhas Forestry Faculty and FOReTIKA,” said Prof. A. Mujetahid.
After the speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Hasanuddin University, officially sent off the students to carry out PKL 1 Wave 8 and ended with a group photo session.
